Miss USA 2026 Wish List: Miss Teen USA 2019-2021

 It's time for Miss USA 2026 and with a new organization at the helm, it's safe to say the new Miss USA will have a fantastic reign. The current queen, Audrey Eckert from Nebraska has been consistently working and traveling. So if that is only in the transition year, imagine what a fabulous reign the new queen will have. That being said, here are some candidates on my wish list for Miss USA 2026: 

Kaliegh Garris: Miss Teen USA 2019 (Connecticut) 



Kaliegh Garris made history with the first back to back win by an African American at Miss USA. She is still active in modeling and would make a great Miss USA. 

Ki'ilani Arruda - Miss Teen USA 2020 (Hawaii) 

A breath of fresh air but since her Instagram account is private, there's not much about her at the moment. Stil I would love to see her return to compete for Miss USA. 

Breanna Miles - Miss Teen USA 2021 (Florida) 



Her crowning moment as Miss Teen USA was iconic and she is still looking amazing. I would love to see her give it a go and compete for the Miss USA crown. 

Landry Davis - Miss Teen USA 2021 2nd runner-up (Texas) 



She has a successful career as a model and the Miss USA title could catapult her into greater heights. Perhaps she is done with pageants but I hope not.

I consider myself lucky that I had the privilege and honour of working with her for 12 months and there is so much to learn from this remarkable young woman.  You see, many people think that it's only the bright lights, the shows, the glamour, the excitement that we live for but trust me, there's only so much that you can take of that before it becomes repetitive. Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - PROLOGUE

THE WARMEST: Zozi blew me away because she was the warmest and  most naturally charasmatic reigning Miss Universe I met The Beauty of How a Moment Can Last a Lifetime  I remember the first time I "saw" a pageant. The year was 1987. The channel was TV1 if memory serves me and I only got a brief glimpse of something that caught my attention immediately and left such a huge impression that it still remains with me to this day. It was the first ever (I found out later) live broadcast of Miss South Africa and I could only take in something that spoke to me for probably less than a couple of minutes before the sitter changed the channel. But it STUCK and ended become perhaps the greatest love of my life.  A MOMENT IN TIME: The year was 1987,  I don't remember much  but I  remember a few glimpses of the middle of the show and  I can still see it so clearly. Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - A Celebration of Strength

 PREVIOUSLY:  Prologue IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME: It is a pity that hindsight is sometimes the  best teacher but pageants represented what I saw in my mother when I was   young and the good things I wanted for her!  Hindsight is such a wonderful thing - beautiful, sweet, inspirational but also usually a bit painful without the extreme sting of the deep, overwhelming hurt that you might have felt at the time. I find people who say that you should just look ahead a bit misguided because, you see, without hindsight there can be no reflection. And reflection is something that guides you towards a deeper understanding of yourself, others, your environment, what's trivial and what's not and just life in general, I would argue.  Now, as I am writing, I am also discovering that yes I usually proclaim that this year it will be 35 years of pageants being integral to my existence.
