Miss Universe Philippines 2026: 8 Electrifying Swimsuit Performances

The remaining 31 candidates competing for the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 title took the stage in the Bench Swimwear Preliminary. I felt that most of the candidates performed better in swimsuit than gown but 8 really got my attention: 

8: Cebu City - Apriel Smith 



I did not feel it as much as the Aqua Boracay swimsuit show but she is still good. I hope to that she goes back to the Boracay styling. 

7: Laguna - Ysabel Prats 



My biggest surprise - she was great here and I see a lot of potential. 

6: Taguig - Bella Ysmael 



Solid performance but I am starting to see others turning up the heat even more. 

5: Baguio City - Roxie Bayens 



She was sizzling in swimsuit and holding steady in the competition. 

4: Muntinlupa - Adela Mae Marshall 



It's a pity she has aged out for Miss World but this girl is really growing on me. 

3: Cebu Province - Nicole Borromeo 



That's more like it. One of her strongest showings. Her hard work was on full display. 

2: Pampanga - Allyson Hetland 



There must be a title for Allyson. She could win an international competition. 

1: La Union - Bea Millan-Windorski 



I can see she is putting in the work. This performance was so much better than in Boracay and she is just so gorgeous, you don't notice when she doesn't have the pageant perfect walk.

THE WARMEST: Zozi blew me away because she was the warmest and  most naturally charasmatic reigning Miss Universe I met The Beauty of How a Moment Can Last a Lifetime  I remember the first time I "saw" a pageant. The year was 1987. The channel was TV1 if memory serves me and I only got a brief glimpse of something that caught my attention immediately and left such a huge impression that it still remains with me to this day. It was the first ever (I found out later) live broadcast of Miss South Africa and I could only take in something that spoke to me for probably less than a couple of minutes before the sitter changed the channel. But it STUCK and ended become perhaps the greatest love of my life.  A MOMENT IN TIME: The year was 1987,  I don't remember much  but I  remember a few glimpses of the middle of the show and  I can still see it so clearly. Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - A Celebration of Strength

 PREVIOUSLY:  Prologue IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME: It is a pity that hindsight is sometimes the  best teacher but pageants represented what I saw in my mother when I was   young and the good things I wanted for her!  Hindsight is such a wonderful thing - beautiful, sweet, inspirational but also usually a bit painful without the extreme sting of the deep, overwhelming hurt that you might have felt at the time. I find people who say that you should just look ahead a bit misguided because, you see, without hindsight there can be no reflection.
