From MGI to... Eye on You: Daylin Rodriguez - Cuba

The Miss Grand International 2025 Competition had a really high calibre of delegates. There are several stunner that did not win the crown that I think would do well in other competitions. So, it's time to celebrate a few of these women whom I would like to give it another shot. We continue with: 



Daylin Rodriguez - Cuba 

One of the biggest surprises during Miss Grand International was the non-placement of the phenomenal young woman that represented Cuba, Daylin Rodriguez. Time after time, Daylin stood out. It was clear that she was very determined to do well and she garnered a lot of attention. 

As one of the youngest candidates she is not yet at her peak. I always believe that the more you get on stage, the easier it becomes. And the amazing part is that Daylin is already so good, so if she decides to enter another competition, she will already come in even stronger. 


Here are the systems I hope she will consider: 

Miss Universe: Eventually I would like Daylin to give the Miss Universe competition a shot. I do hope that she will be entering Miss Universe Cuba but I would advise her to wait 3-4 years. But that doesn't mean I would not like her to do nothing in between. The next pageant might be really good for her. 

Miss Cosmo: Miss Cosmo is one of the pageants that is rising the fastest. They have a busy schedule of activities and good preliminaries and finals. So this will be an excellent chance for Daylin to grow and evolve as an even stronger competitor. 

I really hope it's not the end of the road for Daylin and that she will consider competing in other systems. When the time is right, I think she will excel.

Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - PROLOGUE

THE WARMEST: Zozi blew me away because she was the warmest and  most naturally charasmatic reigning Miss Universe I met The Beauty of How a Moment Can Last a Lifetime  I remember the first time I "saw" a pageant. The year was 1987. The channel was TV1 if memory serves me and I only got a brief glimpse of something that caught my attention immediately and left such a huge impression that it still remains with me to this day. It was the first ever (I found out later) live broadcast of Miss South Africa and I could only take in something that spoke to me for probably less than a couple of minutes before the sitter changed the channel. But it STUCK and ended become perhaps the greatest love of my life.  A MOMENT IN TIME: The year was 1987,  I don't remember much  but I  remember a few glimpses of the middle of the show and  I can still see it so clearly. Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - A Celebration of Strength

 PREVIOUSLY:  Prologue IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME: It is a pity that hindsight is sometimes the  best teacher but pageants represented what I saw in my mother when I was   young and the good things I wanted for her!  Hindsight is such a wonderful thing - beautiful, sweet, inspirational but also usually a bit painful without the extreme sting of the deep, overwhelming hurt that you might have felt at the time. I find people who say that you should just look ahead a bit misguided because, you see, without hindsight there can be no reflection.
