From Poland to… Eye on You: Fabiola Vindas - Costa Rica

  In this series, I will highlight some candidates who competed at the pageant organization I used to work for. Now this one is tricky because I was lucky enough to interact with most of the candidates (not in person because of my personal choice) but I met some around the world and interacted with many of them online too. I am biased and I found all the girls I encountered so special and will always support them in their future endeavours. Because I am doing it for other pageants, I shall do it for this one too. Continuing with a lady who placed in the top 12: 

Fabiola Vindas - Costa Rica

When I first saw photos of Fabiola, I thought to myself that it is so exciting to see such a strong contender for a “non-sash factor” country, like Costa Rica. Then, when I heard her speak, I fell in love with her charm and sweet nature and her story blew me away. 

I was so happy to see this stunning young woman do so well in Poland. If memory serves correctly, she gave her country their highest placement at the Polish pageant since 2017. That is an incredible feat. 

Of course, now that I know how good she is, I would love to see her compete again. Here are my choices for her: 

1. Miss Universe: Costa Rica seems to have two strong organisations - the one that crowned Fabiola and the Miss Universe one. I would definitely love to see Fabiola on the Miss Universe stage, mostly because MU is so loved and revered in Central and South America. 

2. Miss World / Miss Cosmo: I am not sure if either of these franchises are currently being held by anyone in Costa Rica but what I am sure of is that Fabiola is so good, she could excel at any pageant.

THE WARMEST: Zozi blew me away because she was the warmest and  most naturally charasmatic reigning Miss Universe I met The Beauty of How a Moment Can Last a Lifetime  I remember the first time I "saw" a pageant. The year was 1987. The channel was TV1 if memory serves me and I only got a brief glimpse of something that caught my attention immediately and left such a huge impression that it still remains with me to this day. It was the first ever (I found out later) live broadcast of Miss South Africa and I could only take in something that spoke to me for probably less than a couple of minutes before the sitter changed the channel. But it STUCK and ended become perhaps the greatest love of my life.  A MOMENT IN TIME: The year was 1987,  I don't remember much  but I  remember a few glimpses of the middle of the show and  I can still see it so clearly. Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - A Celebration of Strength

 PREVIOUSLY:  Prologue IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME: It is a pity that hindsight is sometimes the  best teacher but pageants represented what I saw in my mother when I was   young and the good things I wanted for her!  Hindsight is such a wonderful thing - beautiful, sweet, inspirational but also usually a bit painful without the extreme sting of the deep, overwhelming hurt that you might have felt at the time. I find people who say that you should just look ahead a bit misguided because, you see, without hindsight there can be no reflection.
