Women Who Made Me Proud in 2025: Nathalie Mogbelzada - Miss Universe Netherlands 2025

I met Nathalie in 2019 and liked her from the moment we met. We met when she was being crowned to represent her country in Poland and afterwards we had a lovely dinner at her family's restaurant in Amsterdam. (Great people, beautiful family!)

Fast forward to her time in Poland and she was a bundle of energy, joy and positivity. I was convinced she would sail through to the top 5. Of course I did not have a say in the matter, but if I did, she would have been there.

After many years of competing, Nathalie knows what it takes, has what it takes and is determined to do what it takes to be an excellent queen. And this was quite evident this year when pre-pageant she ticked all the boxes and put in all the work to be the very best Miss Universe Netherlands she could be. And to be honest, she reminds me of the golden years of my memory of pageants, late 80s early 90s.

But it was her social work that really touched my heart and made me even more proud of her than I already was. I think the results of Miss Universe were questionable in general this year and I truly think she did not get what she normally would of under better management.

So, Nathalie, if you ever get to read this: know that I admire you, love you and respect you. You are one of those queens who put in the work but also have the true heart and love for people. I know that you gave it all and I think there's one more in you! Because you are truly someone special!
