Women Who Made Me Proud in 2025: Cassia Sharpley - Miss Cosmo Namibia 2025
I had the absolute honour of getting to know the lovely Cassia Sharpley, Miss Cosmo Namibia 2025, a little bit before and during her participation in the 2nd edition of Miss Cosmo. A former, Miss Namibia, she already has her own foundation and has continued to work hard on her philanthropic endeavours 'after the crown', which is rare in itself.
A minute or two into our first conversation, I remember telling her that I was blown away - not just because she is an amazing speaker but because she speaks from a place of honest and sincerity. And in this day and age, when answers still surprise you because they are refine but truthful, then you know you have someone special.
It was her commitment to her social causes that inspired the most. When I read about her plans for the first time, I was like this is something nice. But it might need a bit more. (I have listened to so many of these things that I am so used to be left wanting more.) I was totally wrong though.
Upon having the chance to have a conversation to her about her proposal for the Impactful Beauty Award, I was in awe - for several reasons. Cassia KNEW her subject matter and by that I mean: statistics, facts, the mechanics of everything and it was not just based on knowledge obtained from other sources. She did her homework, research and an intricate understanding of the technical aspects but also about the needs of the communities she would like to impact. I left the conversation thinking Cassia would and SHOULD win this award if the Miss Cosmo Organization was true to their mission and we all know she ended up bagging this honour.
Cassia, I am so proud of you. You are a lovely human being - kind, respectful, pure and you gave me so much hope and inspiration in such a challenging time. Yes, I do want to see you in another pageant, but more importantly, I want to see you as a leader of your country. Another female President of Namibia in the making - that's what I see in you! Lots of love, A (Thanks C and W for the opportunity!)
