From Poland to... Eye on You: Eshwin Kaur

 In this series, I will highlight some candidates who competed at the pageant organization I used to work for. Now this one is tricky because I was lucky enough to interact with most of the candidates (not in person because of my personal choice) but I met some around the world and interacted with many of them online too. I am biased and I found all the girls I encountered so special and will always support them in their future endeavours. Because I am doing it for other pageants, I shall do it for this one too. Continuing with: 


ESHWIN KAUR - MALAYSIA 

The beautiful and intelligent Eshwin Kaur represented Malaysia in Poland last year and was one of the hottest favourites among fans and bloggers. I also thought that she would do really well and was surprised/shocked when her name was not called as one of the top 24. She has a fascinating career, her life story is inspirational and she seems like a really nice person.  


Malaysia does not have a strong sash factor in most pageants and that's why I thought Eshwin was about to change this trajectory and start a new chapter for her country at this pageant in particular. She has everything it takes to excel in pageantry. Besides beauty, intelligence and kindness, due to her impressive height and hard work, she can also make an impact on stage. 



I really do hope to see her at another pageant and here are my choices for her: 

1. Miss World: My first choice for Eshwin would be Miss World because of the fact that she is an all rounder and the Miss World system appreciates women with substance. I was really touched when she talked about how her love for social initiatives grew thanks to her participation in Poland. So that means, the service element means something to her and Miss World would be a great fit. 

2. Miss Cosmo: The fandom of Malaysia might not be as big as other countries but I know they are extremely supportive and vocal, so if Eshwin chooses to go for Miss Cosmo and makes it to the international final, I know her country would rally behind her. With all the qualities I have already mentioned, I think she could be someone to watch at Miss Cosmo. 


I am really hoping to see this Malaysian stunner on stage again in the not too distant future!

Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - PROLOGUE

THE WARMEST: Zozi blew me away because she was the warmest and  most naturally charasmatic reigning Miss Universe I met The Beauty of How a Moment Can Last a Lifetime  I remember the first time I "saw" a pageant. The year was 1987. The channel was TV1 if memory serves me and I only got a brief glimpse of something that caught my attention immediately and left such a huge impression that it still remains with me to this day. It was the first ever (I found out later) live broadcast of Miss South Africa and I could only take in something that spoke to me for probably less than a couple of minutes before the sitter changed the channel. But it STUCK and ended become perhaps the greatest love of my life.  A MOMENT IN TIME: The year was 1987,  I don't remember much  but I  remember a few glimpses of the middle of the show and  I can still see it so clearly. Why Pageants Became the Love of My Life - A Celebration of Strength

 PREVIOUSLY:  Prologue IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME: It is a pity that hindsight is sometimes the  best teacher but pageants represented what I saw in my mother when I was   young and the good things I wanted for her!  Hindsight is such a wonderful thing - beautiful, sweet, inspirational but also usually a bit painful without the extreme sting of the deep, overwhelming hurt that you might have felt at the time. I find people who say that you should just look ahead a bit misguided because, you see, without hindsight there can be no reflection.
